Yes - each and every used ingredient is coming from plants, trees, flowers, herbs, seeds, fruit and vegetables.

We don’t use synthetic chemicals and ingredients that are harmful for us or our environment.

Our carefully selected organic plant-oils are unrefined and not altered, bleached, deodorized, winterized or heavily treated with an alkali.

We also use by-products from the food & juice industry like strawberry seed oil, blueberry seed oil, cranberry seed oil and raspberry seed oil, so there is no waste.

We don’t use synthetic fragrance in any of our products. Our level of essential oils  though is very minimal to prevent skin reactions and to ensure suitability for sensitive skin. In The Luminous face / eye serum and The Bakuchiol renewal facial oil no essential oils are used at all.

Yes, our products are hand-crafted in Amsterdam. Each and every single product is formulated by us from scratch. Tested and trailed extensively (by a test group) till we believe for 100% in our formula.

For the bigger batches we give our formula to a manufacturer that completely align with our ethics and our vision.

When searching for high-quality ingredients, we focus on sustainability, ethical sourcing and organic certified ingredients. And, of course gathered as close to our lab as possible to minimise our carbon footprint. Mostly we source local and in Europe.

Because our products are natural, the shelf live is between 6 and 12 months after opening.

We advice our customers to use within 6 months of opening for the highest quality.

We suggest you to keep your products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and preferably below a temperature of 20 degrees.

All LIV Botanics products are entirely made from plants. We use organic ingredients from crops that are grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Those crops are subject to natural elements like heat, drought and cold.

This means that per batch, slight variations and changes in colour and scent may occur which are completely normal. It’s the beauty of a truly natural product! 

Our packaging is made of miscanthus fibers aka elephant grass paper, grown on Dutch soil which is printed with plant-based ink without the use of (possible toxic) glue. This elephant grass is growing very fast and can reach a height of 3,5 meter. Elephant grass can capture more than 4 times more greenhouse gasses per hectare than a forest with trees, can be harvested annually and can grow on marginal land.

No fertilizers and pesticides are required during growth, which contribute to soil improvement and deterioration of air and water quality. The soil were Elephant grass has grown, comes back to life. It restores the health of the soil and promotes biodiversity above the ground. 

The production takes place in The Netherlands and this whole production process has a small carbon foot print.

The used water and heat will be maximal re-used and the roof of the paper factory is covered with 1440 solar panels. 

Our bottles and jars are made of glass which can be recycled and used over and over. The top of our droppers and the lids of the jars are made from recyclable PP and PETG. Our airless pump system is EcoCert proof. Our labels are eco-friendly and made without vinyl. 

Our shipping material is made from recycled kraft paper. Even our paper tissue wrapping, tape and stickers are eco-friendly, acid free, made from certified FSC and as well printed with plant-based ink.

The Bakuchiol is a facial oil for normal to combination skin. It contains a plant-based retinol that works exactly the same as a synthetic retinol without the side effects. It works well against lines and wrinkles. This oil is light, absorbs quickly and also has an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effect, so even acne skin benefits from this oil. 

The Beauty is for dry and sensitive skin. This facial oil is slightly fuller and richer, but also absorbs well. This oil is rich in antioxidants, is full of berries (strawberry, black currant, blueberry and sea buckthorn) and contains a plant-based ingredient "paracress" that mimics the effect of Botox. It relaxes the facial muscles and softens lines, wrinkles and proven effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. 

Both oils can be used alternately or mixed, depending on your skin type. Mixing means mixing 1 to 2 drops of one oil in your hand with 1 to 2 drops of the other oil.

All of our products are formulated with ingredients and active botanicals that helps to combat the signs of aging. For the area around the eyes we especially recommend The Luminous face and eye serum.

Yes you can. The Cleanser, The Beauty and The Midnight are formulated for sensitive and dry skin.

If your skin has reacted in the past on other skincare products, we recommend to test your new products first on a small area to see if your skin reacts on it. If there is no reaction for 24 hours, you can apply them onto the rest of your skin.

Although The Midnight is formulated for the night, it can also be used during the day, especially for soothing very dry skin. This is a multi-purpose product, and it can be used on rough spots, around the eyes and as a natural high-light on the cheeks. 

That said, The Midnight is a rich balm, formulated without the use of water and it might take a bit time to dissolve completely into the skin. You only need a pea-size of it. 

Plant-oils can work on all skin types, even combination and acne-prone skin. They can be very helpful for balancing an oily complexion. They restore balance, providing hydration and essential nutrients for a healthy, radiant complexion. For a combined or acne-prone skin we especially recommend our award-winning facial oil The Bakuchiol. The carefully selected oils and extracts in The Bakuchiol has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which help to prevent outbreaks and balance your skin.

Although some of the plant oils  naturally has a SPF, like raspberry seed oil, cranberry, oil, rice bran oil, rosehip oil and almond oil , we absolutely recommend to use a natural, mineral-based broad-spectrum spf rated 30 or more to prevent cellular damage to the skin. 

All of our products are made with high-quality natural and organic ingredients, pure potent botanicals to provide skin health and the best results for your skin. Because each and every person and pregnancy is different, we recommend speaking with your physician or midwife when using products during this precious time. 

If using The Beauty or The Bakuchiol in the morning or during the day, we recommend to follow with a mineral-based broad-spectrum SPF rated 30.
